Roxana Donaldson is a Contemporary Fine Artist and Memory Analyst whose practice operates at the intersection of Conceptualism, Process Art, and Post-Minimalism. Central to her work is the use of reclaimed domestic textiles—recycled bed sheets that serve as found surfaces of intimacy. Through a rigorous process of multiple layering, erosion, and anthropological inscriptions, she treats these textiles not merely as supports, but as archival vessels for fragile and chaotic emotional content, in a process she defines as “archaeologies of memory”.
[IDENTITY SCAN] OBSESSIVELY ANCHORED IN ANALOG
While her core activity is centered on painting (The Lab), her work frequently expands into modular installations and assemblage art (Archives). As an image researcher, she documents her findings through theoretical texts and meditative logs (Logs), bridging the gap between visual creation and conceptual analysis. Donaldson’s work seeks to save and reconfigure temporal frameworks, offering a physical anchor for resilience and memory in a contemporary context.

ARTISTIC STATEMENT
Memory is a chaotic beast.
Without a cage, it either flees or devours.
I paint on reclaimed domestic textiles as primary canvases, layering pigments and inscriptions to archive time. I do not describe, I do not tell stories, I do not illustrate: this is Process Art where the material possesses agency. Beyond the canvas, my practice involves a systematic analysis of the image, while as a researcher, I document memory and human affective experience.
My laboratory is the studio, and the case study, the gaze.
